Job Brief

As a Movie Shot Camera Operator, you will play a critical role in the production of television, video, and film content by expertly operating cameras to capture high-quality images and scenes. This position requires a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency with camera equipment, and a solid understanding of cinematography principles. The ideal candidate will have experience in film or television production and possess strong collaboration skills to work effectively with directors and production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of cameras to capture engaging visuals for film, television, and video projects.
  • Collaborate closely with directors and production teams to understand and execute the visual storytelling vision.
  • Set up and adjust camera equipment, including lenses, lighting, and audio devices, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and maintain camera settings, focusing, and framing to achieve desired artistic effects.
  • Work on location and in studios, adapting to different environments and lighting conditions.
  • Participate in pre-production meetings to discuss shooting plans and camera techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during filming.
  • Review footage and provide feedback on shots for quality and continuity purposes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a camera operator in film, television, or video production.
  • Strong knowledge of camera equipment, including DSLRs, cinema cameras, and related accessories.
  • Familiarity with cinematography techniques, lighting setups, and shot composition.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing production schedules and environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Formal education in film production, cinematography, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with post-production software and video editing is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various filming locations may be required.
