Job Brief

As a Movie Projectionist, you will play a vital role in the cinematic experience by setting up and operating motion picture projection and sound reproduction equipment. Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate motion picture projection equipment, ensuring optimal performance during screenings.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot sound reproduction systems to provide high-quality audio experiences.
  • Inspect and prepare film reels or digital formats prior to screenings, ensuring all content is correctly formatted and in good condition.
  • Monitor projection equipment during screenings and resolve any technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of projection equipment to extend its lifespan and enhance performance.
  • Coordinate with management and other staff to schedule film showtimes and equipment needs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe viewing environment for patrons.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in projection technology, and film formats to continually improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certification in film projection is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Movie Projectionist or in a similar role within the entertainment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of projection systems, including digital and traditional film technologies.
  • Familiarity with sound reproduction equipment and audio mixing techniques.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform routine technical maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional visual and audio quality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate screening schedules.
