Job Brief
As a Mortar Mixer, you will play a crucial role in the construction process by assisting skilled masons, including brickmasons, blockmasons, stonemasons, and tile and marble setters. Your primary responsibilities will include mixing mortar, supplying materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This entry-level position requires a strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Previous experience in construction or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Mix and prepare mortar and other materials according to specifications for various masonry projects.
- Assist masons by supplying tools and materials as needed during construction activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by regularly cleaning tools and equipment.
- Hold and secure materials or tools to aid in the masonry process.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols on the job site.
- Transport materials to and from the work area as required.
- Support skilled masons in various tasks to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a construction or masonry role is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of masonry tools, materials, and techniques.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labor.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Familiarity with safety practices and regulations in the construction industry.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
