Job Brief
The Mobile Bridge Conveyor Operator is responsible for operating underground loading and moving machinery to efficiently load or transport core, ore, or rock using shuttle cars or conveyors. This role requires experience with various equipment, including power shovels and hoisting engines, as well as a strong understanding of safety protocols and operational procedures in mining environments. Key skills include equipment operation, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety guidelines, making this position critical for maintaining productivity in mining operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate mobile bridge conveyors and associated machinery for the transportation of materials.
- Load, move, and unload core, ore, and rock using shuttle cars and conveyor systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Monitor operational performance and make adjustments as necessary to maximize efficiency.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory compliance measures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate loading and transportation activities effectively.
- Document operational activities and report any issues or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment operation and safety practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Mobile Bridge Conveyor Operator or in a similar role within mining operations.
- Familiarity with underground mining practices and equipment operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Valid operator’s license and relevant certifications for heavy machinery operation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to operational guidelines and protocols.
- Ability to work in challenging underground conditions and manage physical demands of the job.
