Job Brief
As a Mining Yard Loader Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery such as loaders and excavators at surface mining sites. Your primary duty will involve excavating and loading loose materials, ensuring efficient production and adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in heavy equipment operation and demonstrate a strong understanding of mining processes and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate loaders, excavators, and other heavy machinery to excavate and load materials safely and efficiently.
- Monitor equipment performance and conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Coordinate with site management and other operators to optimize workflow and material handling.
- Inspect and assess site conditions to determine the best methods for excavation and material loading.
- Record production data and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in heavy machinery operation preferred.
- Proven experience operating loaders and other mining equipment in a surface mining environment.
- Valid operator’s license and certifications for heavy equipment operation.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and regulations in the mining industry.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on heavy machinery.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
