Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Mineral Technologist to support our team in the exploration and analysis of mineral resources. In this role, you will assist scientists and engineers in utilizing electronic, sonic, and nuclear measuring instruments during laboratory, exploration, and production activities. Your expertise will contribute to the evaluation of resources such as metallic ores, minerals, gas, coal, and petroleum. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, relevant technical experience, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation of electronic, sonic, and nuclear measuring instruments to gather data on mineral resources.
- Analyze drill cuttings and mud samples to determine geological characteristics and resource potential.
- Chart pressure, temperature, and other critical parameters of wells and boreholes for resource assessment.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers on various projects to develop methodologies for resource exploration.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings, including graphical representations of data and analytical results.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during laboratory and field activities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mineral exploration and analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Mineral Technologist or in a similar role within the mining or energy sector.
- Strong understanding of geological principles and mining processes.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
- Familiarity with data analysis software and geological modeling tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and collaboration.
