Job Brief
As a Middle School Physical Education (PE) Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students in grades 6-8. You will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive physical education curricula that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle choices. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lesson plans that align with state standards and promote physical fitness and overall well-being.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance physical skills and knowledge.
- Encourage student participation in various sports and physical activities, emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect and cooperation among students.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and assessments.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate physical education with other academic subjects.
- Organize and participate in school-wide athletic events, competitions, and recreational activities.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in physical education and incorporate innovative teaching methods and technology into the curriculum.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification or licensure in Physical Education for middle school education.
- Strong understanding of physical fitness principles, health education, and sports management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Experience in coaching or leading sports teams is preferred.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in physical education methodologies.
