Job Brief
As a Metal Sheet Roller Operator, you will set up, operate, and tend machines to roll metal sheets, primarily steel or plastic. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of metalworking processes to form bends, beads, or knurls, as well as to flatten, temper, or reduce the gauge of materials. Ideal candidates will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, previous experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate metal rolling machines to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Operate metal sheet rolling equipment to produce specified shapes and dimensions.
- Monitor production processes and adjust machine settings to maintain quality standards.
- Inspect rolled materials for defects and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on rolling machines to prevent downtime and ensure safety.
- Document production output and machine operations for quality control purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production workflows and improve efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in metalworking or manufacturing preferred.
- Proven experience as a Metal Sheet Roller Operator or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with metalworking tools and machinery, including CNC equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of safety practices related to equipment operation and material handling.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
