Job Brief
As a Metal Mockup Maker, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various machinery, including lathes, milling machines, engraving machines, and jig borers, to create precise working models of metal and plastic objects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of machining processes, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. This role requires a blend of craftsmanship and technical skills, making it essential for professionals with a background in manufacturing or engineering.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain lathes, milling machines, engraving machines, and jig borers to produce high-quality mockups.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints and engineering drawings to create accurate metal and plastic models.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project requirements and deliver prototypes on schedule.
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Implement safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Document production processes and maintain records of completed projects.
- Assist in the training of junior staff in machining techniques and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Metal Mockup Maker or in a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Technical diploma or certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
