The Mental Health Technician plays a crucial role in providing care for individuals experiencing mental or emotional conditions. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess patients’ physical and emotional conditions, reporting any changes to the medical team.

  • Provide support with personal hygiene and daily living activities to enhance patient comfort and dignity.
  • Administer prescribed oral or injectable medications in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation as required.
  • Facilitate therapeutic activities and group sessions to promote social interaction and mental wellness.
  • Engage with patients in a compassionate manner, providing emotional support and encouragement.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in mental health or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a mental health or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety regulations.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
