The Mental Health Technician plays a crucial role in providing care for individuals experiencing mental or emotional conditions. Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients’ physical and emotional conditions, reporting any changes to the medical team.
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans and rehabilitation programs under the guidance of healthcare professionals.
- Provide support with personal hygiene and daily living activities to enhance patient comfort and dignity.
- Administer prescribed oral or injectable medications in accordance with safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation as required.
- Facilitate therapeutic activities and group sessions to promote social interaction and mental wellness.
- Engage with patients in a compassionate manner, providing emotional support and encouragement.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in mental health or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a mental health or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety regulations.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
