Job Brief
The Mechanical Engineering Director will lead and oversee the engineering and architectural activities within the organization. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in mechanical engineering, strategic planning, and project management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record in driving innovation and efficiency in engineering processes, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve engineering processes and operational efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional teams in research and development initiatives to enhance product design and functionality.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards and best practices to ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project requirements and translate them into actionable engineering plans.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in technology to drive innovation within the engineering department.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent to foster a high-performance team environment.
- Prepare and present technical reports and proposals to senior management and clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Proven expertise in project management methodologies and engineering design principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative solutions.
- Experience with CAD software and other engineering design tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards in engineering.
