Job Brief

The Mechanical Engineering Director will lead and oversee the engineering and architectural activities within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve engineering processes and operational efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in research and development initiatives to enhance product design and functionality.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards and best practices to ensure quality and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project requirements and translate them into actionable engineering plans.
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements in technology to drive innovation within the engineering department.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent to foster a high-performance team environment.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and proposals to senior management and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Proven expertise in project management methodologies and engineering design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative solutions.
  • Experience with CAD software and other engineering design tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards in engineering.
