Job Brief
The Mechanical Design Drafter is responsible for creating detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, fastening methods, and other crucial engineering information. Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare precise mechanical drawings and schematics using CAD software.
- Collaborate with engineers and product designers to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all design outputs.
- Analyze and modify existing designs to improve functionality and manufacturability.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including bill of materials (BOM) and specifications.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on feasibility and design improvements.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design issues during the manufacturing process.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Drafter or in a similar role within the engineering industry.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to mechanical design.
