Job Brief
As a Marine Structural Designer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and evaluating the operational efficiency of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, including power supply and propulsion systems. Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive structural plans for marine vessels and related machinery.
- Evaluate existing marine structures for integrity and compliance with industry regulations.
- Utilize advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed technical drawings.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analyses to ensure effective propulsion and power supply systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including naval architects, engineers, and project managers.
- Prepare documentation and reports to support design proposals and project updates.
- Stay updated with the latest marine design technologies and innovations.
- Participate in the testing and evaluation of prototypes to ensure design specifications are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in marine structural design or related domains.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino) and structural analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of marine design codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer license) are a plus.
