Job Brief
As a Marine Pipefitter Helper, you will support skilled plumbers, pipefitters, steamfitters, and pipelayers by performing essential duties that require less technical expertise. Responsibilities
- Assist pipefitters and plumbers in the installation and maintenance of piping systems on marine vessels.
- Supply and hold materials, tools, and equipment as needed for various plumbing tasks.
- Clean and maintain work areas, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Support in measuring, cutting, and assembling pipe materials under supervision.
- Follow instructions and directives from skilled tradespersons to ensure project efficiency.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in the marine piping industry.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in plumbing or piping is a plus.
- Basic understanding of plumbing and pipefitting principles.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
