Job Brief

The Marine Equipment Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and evaluation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and associated equipment, including power supply and propulsion systems. Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze marine equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop specifications and technical documentation for marine machinery and equipment.
  • Evaluate and test marine systems, including propulsion and power supply, to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate marine systems into vessel designs.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for marine engineering issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in marine technology.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during the installation and maintenance of marine equipment.
  • Participate in safety assessments and risk management for marine operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Marine Equipment Engineer or in a similar role within the marine industry.
  • Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, electrical systems, and fluid dynamics.
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer license) are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site evaluations and inspections as needed.
