Job Brief
The Marine Equipment Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and evaluation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and associated equipment, including power supply and propulsion systems. Responsibilities
- Design and analyze marine equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop specifications and technical documentation for marine machinery and equipment.
- Evaluate and test marine systems, including propulsion and power supply, to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate marine systems into vessel designs.
- Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for marine engineering issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in marine technology.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the installation and maintenance of marine equipment.
- Participate in safety assessments and risk management for marine operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Marine Equipment Engineer or in a similar role within the marine industry.
- Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, electrical systems, and fluid dynamics.
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer license) are a plus.
- Willingness to travel for on-site evaluations and inspections as needed.
