Job Brief
The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating operations within a manufacturing facility. This role encompasses overseeing multiple departments or locations, formulating policies, managing daily operational activities, and optimizing the use of materials and human resources. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing management, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Manage and mentor subordinate supervisors to foster a high-performance culture within the organization.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to align operations with organizational goals and objectives.
- Formulate and manage budgets, forecasting resource needs for materials and personnel.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to optimize inventory management and reduce lead times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics to drive decision-making.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software tools.
