Job Brief
The Magnetometer Operator plays a crucial role in assisting scientists and engineers with the operation of electronic, sonic, and nuclear measuring instruments. This position is primarily focused on laboratory, exploration, and production activities to gather data related to natural resources such as metallic ores, minerals, gas, coal, and petroleum. Responsibilities
- Operate magnetometers and other measuring instruments to collect data on geological resources.
- Assist in the analysis of mud and drill cuttings to evaluate geological formations.
- Chart and monitor pressure, temperature, and other well characteristics to ensure data accuracy.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop methodologies for resource assessment.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of measurements and observations for reporting purposes.
- Conduct fieldwork to support exploration and production activities in various environments.
- Utilize data analysis software to interpret results and provide insights for project development.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing operational tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in geology, geophysics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience operating magnetometers and other geological measuring instruments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with geological mapping and reporting techniques.
