Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated Logging Laborer to join our forestry team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks related to tree harvesting, including cutting, stacking, and transporting logs. The Logging Laborer should possess strong physical endurance and the ability to work in diverse weather conditions. Previous experience in logging, forestry, or related fields is preferred, along with a commitment to safety standards and environmental practices.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and power equipment to fell and process trees efficiently.
- Assist in the transportation of logs to designated locations, ensuring proper handling and care.
- Stack and sort logs according to size and type for optimal processing.
- Maintain and inspect logging equipment, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets and project goals.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge of logging practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in logging or forestry is preferred.
- Ability to operate logging equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in outdoor environments.
- Knowledge of tree species and logging methods is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles in remote locations.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and commitment to adhering to safety standards.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
