Job Brief

As a Lock Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and opening locks, creating keys, changing locks, and altering safe combinations. Additionally, you will install and repair various types of safes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of lock mechanisms, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Previous experience in locksmithing or a related field is essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning locks and locking mechanisms.
  • Open locks using a variety of techniques, including lock picking and bypassing.
  • Manufacture and duplicate keys with precision and accuracy.
  • Change safe combinations and install new locking systems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain safes and security systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and educate clients on lock maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and replacement parts necessary for locksmithing tasks.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new locking technologies, and security practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Lock Technician or similar role in locksmithing.
  • In-depth knowledge of lock mechanisms, access control systems, and safes.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Relevant certifications in locksmithing or security technology preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
