Job Brief
The LNG Plant Operator plays a critical role in the operation and monitoring of liquefied natural gas facilities. This position involves the operation of steam-, gas-, electric motor-, or internal combustion-engine driven compressors to transmit, compress, or recover gases such as butane, nitrogen, hydrogen, and natural gas. Ideal candidates will possess relevant experience in gas processing and a strong understanding of safety protocols, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor equipment such as compressors and pumps to ensure efficient gas transmission and processing.
- Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LNG equipment to maintain optimal operational performance.
- Control and adjust plant processes based on operational data and environmental conditions to maximize output and safety.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards while operating LNG facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, incidents, and maintenance activities for reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement process improvements and resolve operational issues.
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, executing emergency procedures as necessary to ensure safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an LNG Plant Operator or in a similar role within the gas processing industry.
- Strong knowledge of gas compression, transmission systems, and LNG processing techniques.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental regulations related to LNG operations.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
