Job Brief
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in animal healthcare by performing medical tests and assisting veterinarians in diagnosing and treating diseases in various animal species. Responsibilities
- Perform medical laboratory tests, including urinalysis and blood counts, to aid in the diagnosis of animal diseases.
- Prepare vaccines and serums for the prevention of diseases in animals.
- Collect and process tissue and blood samples, ensuring accurate lab results.
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, providing necessary support and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Clean and sterilize veterinary instruments and materials in compliance with health regulations.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment and machines, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Educate pet owners on animal care and preventive health measures.
- Document patient information and maintain accurate medical records according to veterinary standards.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent certification.
- Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and animal handling procedures.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary pharmacology and anesthesia protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to animal welfare.
