Job Brief

As a Licensed Prosthetist, you will be responsible for designing, measuring, fitting, and adapting orthopedic braces and prostheses for patients with disabling conditions. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient needs and develop customized prosthetic and orthopedic solutions.
  • Design and fabricate prostheses, including limbs and facial parts, using industry-standard materials and techniques.
  • Measure and fit patients to ensure optimal comfort and functionality of prosthetic devices.
  • Adapt and modify prostheses as necessary to accommodate changing patient conditions or preferences.
  • Conduct patient assessments and follow-up consultations to monitor progress and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay current with technological advancements in prosthetics and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics or a related field.
  • Current licensure as a Prosthetist, as required by state regulations.
  • Proven experience in designing and fitting prosthetic devices.
  • Strong knowledge of biomechanics and human anatomy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software for prosthetic fabrication.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
