Responsibilities
- Design and fit lenses and frames according to clients’ optical prescriptions and specifications.
- Measure clients for accurate sizing of eyeglasses, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements.
- Assist clients with inserting, removing, and caring for contact lenses.
- Prepare detailed work orders for optical laboratories, including instructions for grinding and mounting lenses.
- Verify the accuracy of finished lens spectacles to ensure client satisfaction.
- Adjust frame and lens positions to provide optimal comfort and fit for clients.
- Shape or reshape frames as necessary to meet client preferences.
- Stay updated on the latest optical trends and technologies to provide informed recommendations.
Requirements
- Valid state license or certification as a Dispensing Optician.
- Proven experience in optical dispensing and fitting of eyewear.
- Strong knowledge of optical prescriptions and lens types.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in using optical measuring equipment and tools.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
