Job Brief
The Laundry Operator is responsible for efficiently operating and maintaining washing and dry-cleaning machines to process industrial and household articles, including garments, linens, and rugs. Responsibilities
- Operate and tend to washing and dry-cleaning machines for various materials including textiles, leather, and furs.
- Inspect and sort articles for cleaning, identifying stains and selecting appropriate cleaning methods.
- Load and unload machines efficiently to maximize productivity and maintain workflow.
- Monitor machine operations, adjusting settings as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on laundry equipment to prevent downtime.
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning processes and inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction with cleaned articles.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training in laundry operations is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Laundry Operator or in a similar role in commercial or industrial laundry settings.
- Familiarity with various laundry equipment and cleaning chemicals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to differentiate fabric types and cleaning requirements.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of lifting and moving heavy items.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for laundry equipment.
