Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining washing and dry-cleaning machines to ensure the efficient cleaning of various articles, including garments, linens, and carpets. A successful Laundry Attendant should possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a laundry or dry-cleaning setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate washing and dry-cleaning machines to clean a variety of items such as clothing, linens, and carpets.
- Inspect articles for stains or damage and apply appropriate treatments or spot-cleaning techniques.
- Sort and categorize laundry items based on fabric type, color, and cleaning requirements.
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of machines to optimize cleaning efficiency.
- Monitor machine operations and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Assist in inventory management of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns related to their laundry.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in laundry operations is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Laundry Attendant or in a similar role within the laundry or dry-cleaning industry.
- Familiarity with various cleaning agents and their appropriate applications.
- Ability to operate laundry machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy items as needed.
