Job Brief
As a Large Animal Veterinarian, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases and injuries in livestock and other large animals. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations of large animals, including horses, cattle, and swine, to assess their health status.
- Diagnose and treat medical conditions and injuries in large animals through clinical procedures and interventions.
- Develop and implement vaccination and preventive healthcare programs for livestock.
- Perform surgical procedures, including routine surgeries and emergency interventions as needed.
- Provide guidance and education to animal owners regarding nutrition, breeding, and general care of large animals.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments and outcomes.
- Conduct research on animal health issues, contributing to advancements in veterinary science and practices.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver high-quality care.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- State licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience working with large animals, preferably in a clinical or farm setting.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interactions.
- Ability to work in various environments, including farms and outdoor settings.
