Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled LAN Administrator to oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our organization’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). The ideal candidate will manage data communications networks, operating systems, and both physical and virtual servers. This role requires strong analytical skills to monitor system performance, ensure data integrity, and optimize network resources. Successful candidates will have hands-on experience with network management and a solid foundation in system administration.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN and WAN systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor network operations and verify the integrity and availability of hardware and server resources.
- Review system and application logs to ensure timely completion of scheduled jobs, including backups.
- Analyze network and server resource consumption and implement access control measures.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain software applications while managing software licenses.
- Assist in network modeling, planning, and coordination of hardware and software components.
- Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently.
- Document network configurations and maintain up-to-date records of system changes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a LAN Administrator or in a similar network administration role.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and technologies.
- Proficiency in managing both physical and virtual servers, including Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with network security principles and practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
