Job Brief

The Ladle Repairer is responsible for the construction and maintenance of critical equipment, including ladles, furnaces, and kilns, utilizing advanced refractory materials. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in welding and fabrication, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently in high-temperature environments.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and repair ladles, ensuring proper functioning in metallurgical applications.
  • Utilize refractory materials to build or restore equipment, such as furnaces and kilns.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on ladles and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve equipment design and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and standards in all maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on ladle repair techniques and safety practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding or fabrication preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in ladle repair or related fields within the metallurgical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of refractory materials and their applications in high-temperature environments.
  • Proficiency in welding and metalworking techniques, including MIG and TIG welding.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in industrial settings.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
