Job Brief

As a Kitchen and Bath Designer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and furnishing functional and aesthetically pleasing internal spaces in residential and commercial environments. This role requires a keen understanding of spatial design, material selection, and industry trends to create innovative and practical layouts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in interior design, proficiency in design software, and exceptional communication skills to collaborate with clients, contractors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to determine their needs, preferences, and budget for kitchen and bath spaces.
  • Create detailed design plans, including drawings, renderings, and specifications for materials and finishes.
  • Utilize design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) to produce accurate visualizations and layouts.
  • Research and stay updated on current design trends, materials, and technologies in kitchen and bath design.
  • Oversee the selection and procurement of fixtures, appliances, and furnishings to ensure quality and style.
  • Collaborate with contractors and tradespeople to ensure design implementation meets specifications and standards.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project progress and address any design-related issues that arise.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the design process, maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Kitchen and Bath Designer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, 3D modeling tools, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
  • Portfolio showcasing past projects and design capabilities.
  • Certification from a recognized professional organization (e.g., NKBA, NCIDQ) is a plus.
