Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Keysmith to join our team, responsible for repairing and opening locks, creating keys, and changing locks and safe combinations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in locksmithing, with a strong focus on customer service and problem-solving skills. This role requires hands-on experience in installing and repairing various types of locks and safes, along with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Repair and open a variety of locks, including residential, commercial, and automotive locks.
- Fabricate keys using key cutting machines and manual techniques.
- Change and rekey locks to ensure security and functionality.
- Install, repair, and maintain safes, including changing combinations and troubleshooting issues.
- Provide expert advice to clients regarding lock and security solutions.
- Respond to emergency lockout situations with prompt and efficient service.
- Maintain accurate records of key and lock transactions for inventory tracking.
- Stay updated on the latest locksmithing techniques, tools, and technologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Keysmith or Locksmith, with a strong understanding of lock mechanisms.
- Certification in locksmithing or relevant training is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of locksmithing tools, key cutting machines, and safe installation techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent customer service skills and communication abilities.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and professionally.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
