Job Brief
As a Keno Runner, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the gaming experience for patrons by facilitating wagers on various races and sporting events. This position requires assisting in the operation of keno and bingo games, operating random number-generating equipment, and effectively announcing winning numbers. You will be responsible for receiving, verifying, and recording wagers, as well as scanning and processing winning tickets to ensure timely payouts. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for the gaming industry.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and post information enabling patrons to place wagers on keno, bingo, and other sporting events.
- Assist in the smooth operation of keno and bingo games, ensuring compliance with gaming regulations.
- Operate random number-generating equipment and announce winning numbers clearly and accurately.
- Receive, verify, and record patrons’ wagers efficiently.
- Scan and process winning tickets presented by patrons and manage payouts accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patron inquiries and concerns regarding games and wagers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Assist in promoting gaming events and ensuring a positive gaming atmosphere for all patrons.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a gaming or customer service environment preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate wager verification and payouts.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patrons and announce game results.
- Familiarity with gaming software and random number-generating systems is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of gaming regulations and operational standards is preferred.
