As an International Student Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive educational and vocational guidance to international students. Responsibilities
- Advise international students on academic programs, course selection, and career planning.
- Assist students with visa applications and provide information on immigration regulations.
- Conduct workshops and informational sessions to support student integration and cultural adjustment.
- Collaborate with academic departments to develop tailored support services for international students.
- Provide one-on-one counseling to address personal, academic, and financial concerns.
- Monitor student progress and provide resources for academic success and well-being.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and agencies relevant to international education.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, International Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in student counseling or support services, preferably in an international context.
- Strong understanding of immigration laws and regulations affecting international students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Knowledge of educational systems and cultural differences impacting international students.
- Ability to develop and implement workshops and outreach programs.
