Responsibilities

- Collaborate with insurance agents and brokers to clarify application details and risk factors.
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and policies in accordance with industry regulations.
- Monitor and review existing policies to make recommendations for renewals and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and related documentation.
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting underwriting practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and providing clear explanations of underwriting decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an underwriter in the insurance industry.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with underwriting software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in underwriting (e.g., Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter – CPCU) is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant insurance laws and regulations.
