Job Brief

As an Inhalation Therapist, you will assess, treat, and care for patients with various breathing disorders. This role involves taking primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities, including supervising respiratory therapy technicians. You will initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure the safe operation of respiratory equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a passion for improving patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ respiratory conditions and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Administer inhalation therapy and other respiratory care modalities to patients with breathing disorders.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor respiratory therapy technicians in daily operations and patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory health management and therapeutic procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide integrated patient care and optimize treatment effectiveness.
  • Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy practices and participate in professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Valid state licensure as a respiratory therapist or equivalent certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital environment.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures, equipment, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations and prioritize patient care effectively.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are preferred.
