Job Brief

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain index entries to enhance the usability of written materials.
- Coordinate with authors and editorial teams to gather necessary information for indexing.
- Review and revise drafts for clarity, consistency, and adherence to publishing standards.
- Utilize indexing software and tools to create comprehensive and accurate indexes.
- Provide constructive feedback to authors and contribute to the editorial process.
- Ensure that all indexed materials are completed within established deadlines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in indexing and editing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Library Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Index Editor or in a similar editorial role.
- Strong understanding of editorial guidelines and indexing standards.
- Proficiency in indexing software and tools, such as Cindex or Sky Index.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
