Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Illuminating Engineer to design, develop, and implement innovative electrical systems for a variety of applications, including commercial, industrial, military, and scientific environments. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of lighting technology, electrical components, and system integration. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with electrical equipment are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on lighting technologies to enhance system performance and energy efficiency.
- Design and develop electrical systems and components for various applications, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Supervise the manufacturing and installation of lighting systems, providing technical guidance to teams.
- Test and evaluate prototypes, making necessary adjustments to optimize functionality and reliability.
- Collaborate with architects and project managers to integrate lighting designs into overall project plans.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to inform system improvements.
- Provide support for troubleshooting and maintenance of existing lighting systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an illuminating engineering role or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and lighting design principles.
- Familiarity with CAD software and simulation tools for electrical engineering.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement.
