Job Brief

As a Hydrogeologist, you will conduct comprehensive research on the distribution, circulation, and physical properties of groundwater and surface water. Your expertise will aid in understanding precipitation patterns, infiltration rates, and the movement of water through the Earth’s systems. Candidates should possess a solid background in hydrogeology, environmental science, or a related field, along with strong analytical skills and experience in fieldwork and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrogeological assessments to evaluate groundwater resources and surface water interactions.
  • Analyze data related to water quality, quantity, and movement to inform water management strategies.
  • Utilize hydrological modeling software to predict groundwater flow and assess environmental impacts.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor and study precipitation patterns, soil infiltration rates, and aquifer recharge processes.
  • Develop and implement groundwater monitoring programs and sampling procedures.
  • Stay updated on the latest hydrogeological research and technology advancements to enhance project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in hydrogeological investigations and groundwater modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrological principles and water resource management.
  • Familiarity with GIS software and hydrological modeling tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and presentations.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Professional Geologist (PG) or Certified Hydrogeologist (CHg), are a plus.
