Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Pile Hammer Operator to join our construction team. In this role, you will operate hydraulic pile drivers mounted on skids, barges, crawler treads, or locomotive cranes to effectively drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundational structures including buildings, bridges, and piers. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in heavy equipment operation, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety on job sites.
Responsibilities
- Operate hydraulic pile hammers and related equipment to drive pilings efficiently and accurately.
- Inspect and maintain pile driving equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to determine job requirements.
- Collaborate with construction crews and site supervisors to coordinate pile driving operations.
- Monitor and adjust equipment settings to achieve desired piling depth and alignment.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to minimize risks on the job site.
- Document daily operations and maintenance activities for project reporting.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment handling and safety practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Hydraulic Pile Hammer Operator or in a similar heavy equipment operating role.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and pile driving techniques.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to construction operations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for operating heavy machinery.
- Valid driver’s license and any required operator certifications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
