Job Brief

As a Hurricane Tracker, you will investigate atmospheric phenomena and analyze meteorological data collected from surface and air stations, satellites, and radar systems. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare detailed reports and forecasts that inform the public and relevant stakeholders about hurricane developments. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of meteorology, and experience in weather forecasting. Responsibilities

  • Analyze meteorological data from various sources, including satellites, radar, and surface stations.
  • Monitor and track hurricane formations and movements, providing real-time updates and forecasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in weather forecasting, preferably with a focus on tropical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in meteorological software, modeling tools, and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
  • Ability to work under pressure during emergency situations and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Certifications such as Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) or American Meteorological Society (AMS) certification are a plus.
