Job Brief
The House Painter Helper supports skilled painters and other finishing trades by assisting with a variety of tasks that require less specialized skills. This entry-level role involves preparing surfaces, handling tools and materials, and maintaining a clean work environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Previous experience in construction or painting environments is a plus, but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Assist painters in preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming.
- Supply and hold materials and tools for painters and plasterers to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment to meet safety and sanitation standards.
- Mix paints, primers, and other coatings under the guidance of skilled painters.
- Assist in the application of paints, stains, and finishes to various surfaces.
- Support the installation of wall coverings and other decorative finishes.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while on the job site.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project timelines are met.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic knowledge of painting techniques and materials is an advantage.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
- Familiarity with safety practices and equipment in construction environments.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities in the painting trade.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for transportation to job sites.
