Job Brief
The Horticultural Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating landscaping and groundskeeping activities. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively. Experience in estimating project costs and reviewing contracts is essential to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of landscaping and groundskeeping teams to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for landscaping tasks.
- Review contracts to determine service requirements, labor needs, and equipment specifications.
- Provide estimates for landscaping projects based on labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding landscaping methods, materials, and pricing.
- Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure team adherence to safety regulations.
- Train and mentor team members to foster skill development and enhance service quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Horticultural Services Supervisor or in a similar management role.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscaping practices, and grounds maintenance.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret contracts and technical documents.
- Solid understanding of budgeting and cost estimation in landscaping projects.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members.
- Certification in Horticulture or Landscape Management is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate landscaping machinery as needed.
