Job Brief
As a Histotechnologist, you will perform complex medical laboratory tests essential for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. You will be responsible for preparing tissue samples, conducting histological examinations, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of laboratory results. Responsibilities
- Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
- Perform histological techniques such as embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Conduct quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Utilize advanced laboratory equipment and technologies for tissue processing.
- Collaborate with pathologists and medical staff to interpret laboratory findings.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and manage supplies efficiently.
- Train and supervise junior staff and laboratory technicians.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology or related field.
- Certification as a Histotechnologist (ASCP or equivalent preferred).
- Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably in histology.
- Strong knowledge of histological techniques and protocols.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and data management.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
