Job Brief

The Highway Painter Helper supports skilled painters by assisting with various tasks related to highway and road painting projects. This entry-level position involves using, supplying, and holding materials and tools, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work area. Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Previous experience in construction or related fields is beneficial, though not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist highway painters in preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning and priming areas as needed.
  • Supply paints, tools, and equipment to painters during job execution.
  • Hold and support tools and materials to facilitate painting tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and properly storing tools and materials.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in training sessions to develop skills applicable to painting and construction tasks.
  • Report any issues or concerns to supervising painters promptly.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of painting techniques and materials preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Familiarity with safety practices in construction environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required, depending on job location.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from skilled painters.
