Job Brief
The Helicopter Airframe Mechanic is responsible for assembling, fitting, fastening, and installing components of helicopters, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Assemble, fit, and install airframe components, including fuselage, wings, and landing gear.
- Conduct inspections and maintenance on helicopter airframes to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to airframe systems and components.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to perform repairs and modifications on helicopter structures.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and installation.
- Collaborate with engineers and other mechanics to address complex mechanical problems.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed on airframe components.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during maintenance operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in aviation maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in helicopter airframe maintenance or a related field.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment specific to helicopter maintenance.
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems, aerodynamics, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including maintenance manuals and engineering specifications.
