Job Brief

Responsibilities
- Lead congregational worship services, including Shabbat, holidays, and life-cycle events.
- Perform traditional Hebrew liturgical music and chant, enhancing the worship experience.
- Provide spiritual and moral guidance to congregants, offering counsel and support.
- Coordinate and participate in educational programs to promote Jewish learning and traditions.
- Collaborate with clergy and lay leaders to develop worship services and community events.
- Prepare and deliver sermons, speeches, and teachings to inspire and educate the congregation.
- Engage with community members to build relationships and foster a sense of belonging.
- Oversee and train choir members or musical groups to enrich the worship experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cantor or in a similar religious leadership role.
- Strong proficiency in Hebrew language and liturgical texts.
- Exceptional vocal skills and musical talent, with knowledge of Jewish music traditions.
- Degree in Jewish Studies, Sacred Music, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in community outreach and engagement within a religious context.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with diverse congregants.
- Ability to lead and inspire through teaching, singing, and public speaking.
- Knowledge of Jewish laws, customs, and rituals is essential.
