Job Brief
The Heat and Frost Insulator applies insulating materials to pipes, ductwork, and other mechanical systems to effectively control and maintain temperature. This role requires a strong understanding of insulation techniques and materials, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in insulation installation, a keen eye for detail, and knowledge of safety practices in construction environments.
Responsibilities
- Install and apply insulating materials to mechanical systems, including pipes and ductwork, to enhance energy efficiency.
- Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific shapes and sizes in accordance with project specifications.
- Inspect insulation installations to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Utilize various tools and equipment to secure insulation in place, including adhesives, fasteners, and protective coverings.
- Collaborate with construction and maintenance teams to assess insulation needs and provide expert recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, project timelines, and installation processes.
- Adhere to safety protocols to minimize risks associated with insulation work and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in insulation or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Heat and Frost Insulator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of insulation materials, techniques, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment related to insulation application.
- Certifications in safety training, such as OSHA, are highly desirable.
