Job Brief

As a Health Information Analyst, you will leverage your expertise in healthcare and information systems to support the design, development, and analysis of computerized healthcare systems. Your primary responsibilities will include abstracting, collecting, and analyzing patient treatment and follow-up data. You will also play a key role in educating staff and facilitating problem-solving initiatives to enhance the implementation of healthcare information systems. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong analytical background and experience in database design and monitoring disease management.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret healthcare data to identify trends, patterns, and outcomes in patient treatment and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and modify electronic health record (EHR) systems and other related databases.
  • Educate staff on the effective use of healthcare information systems and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Abstract and collect patient data to support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.
  • Design, develop, test, and implement databases that capture comprehensive patient histories, diagnoses, treatments, and health statuses.
  • Conduct regular audits of data integrity and accuracy to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on healthcare technology trends and best practices to recommend system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in healthcare data analysis, EHR systems, and database management.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis software and statistical tools.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, coding systems, and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications such as Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) are preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and methodologies is a plus.
