Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Health Informatics Specialist to leverage healthcare knowledge and information systems expertise in designing, developing, and analyzing computerized healthcare systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for abstracting, collecting, and analyzing patient treatment data while educating staff and facilitating problem-solving to enhance the implementation of healthcare information systems. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement computerized healthcare systems to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
- Abstract and collect patient treatment data and follow-up information for comprehensive analysis.
- Analyze healthcare data to identify trends, monitor diseases, and support clinical decision-making.
- Educate healthcare staff on the effective use of healthcare information systems and address any technical challenges.
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to ensure optimal functionality of health information systems.
- Develop and maintain databases containing patient histories, diagnoses, treatments, and health statuses.
- Conduct quality assurance tests on new systems and modifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in health informatics to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in healthcare data analysis and informatics.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and health information systems.
- Strong technical skills in database design, management, and optimization.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards (HIPAA, HITECH).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Certifications in health informatics (e.g., CAHIMS, CPHIMS) are a plus.
- Experience working with programming languages, data visualization tools, and statistical software preferred.
