Job Brief
As a Harvester, you will play a vital role in the agricultural sector by manually planting, cultivating, and harvesting a variety of crops, including vegetables, fruits, nuts, and horticultural specialties. This position requires hands-on experience with various farming tools and techniques, along with a strong understanding of crop management practices. Responsibilities
- Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest crops using hand tools such as shovels, trowels, and pruning shears.
- Till soil and apply fertilizers to ensure optimal crop growth.
- Transplant, weed, thin, and prune crops to maintain healthy yields.
- Apply pesticides and manage pest control measures in compliance with safety regulations.
- Clean, grade, sort, pack, and load harvested products for distribution.
- Construct trellises and repair fences or farm buildings as needed.
- Participate in irrigation activities to maintain adequate water supply for crops.
- Monitor crop health and report any issues to farm management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in agricultural roles or similar positions.
- Strong knowledge of crop management practices and harvesting techniques.
- Ability to operate and maintain hand tools and farming equipment effectively.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of pest management and pesticide application.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant agricultural certifications a plus.
