Job Brief
As a Gunner’s Mate G (Guns), you will play a critical role in the operation and maintenance of various weapon systems used to neutralize enemy threats, including ground positions, aircraft, and naval vessels. This position requires a strong understanding of artillery systems, ammunition handling, and weapon maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, experience in field artillery or naval operations, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a variety of weapon systems, including guns, cannons, howitzers, and missile launchers.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of ammunition, missiles, and torpedoes to ensure operational readiness.
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on weaponry and associated equipment.
- Establish and maintain effective communication using radio and wire systems.
- Utilize weapons targeting, firing, and launch computer systems for accurate engagement.
- Train and supervise junior personnel in weapon operation and safety protocols.
- Document maintenance activities and report any malfunctions or equipment failures.
- Participate in training exercises to enhance team coordination and combat readiness.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; military training in artillery or related field preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of weapon systems and artillery operations.
- Experience in ammunition handling and safety regulations.
- Ability to work in physically demanding and high-stress situations.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for weapon targeting and operations.
- Valid military certification in weapon systems operation is a plus.
